An American athlete who lost both legs won the gold medal in the men’s 400m race at the Paris Paralympics. Hunter Woodhall, a three-time Paralympic medalist, completed the race in 46.32 seconds, celebrating his incredible victory. He was also part of the US team that won bronze in the 4x100m relay race. Expressing his joy, Woodhall said he was thrilled to bring home two medals.
Woodhall’s wife, Tara Davis Woodhall, also had her moment of glory at the Paris 2024 Olympics, winning gold in the women’s long jump event. Tara, 25, is a former student of the University of Georgia and the University of Texas, where Woodhall also studied.
Woodhall’s lower legs were amputated when he was just 11 months old due to an illness, but he has never let this stop him from achieving greatness.
Their love story, celebrated in the world of sports, reached a touching moment at the Paris Olympics when Hunter sat in the audience, cheering for Tara in an emotional display of support. The couple, who married on October 16, 2022, continue to inspire many with their dedication to each other and their sports.
