When You Give Over 10,000 Hours…Fawad Khan On Why Pakistani Drama Are Rage In India
Fawad Khan is set to return to Bollywood with a romantic-comedy film alongside Vaani Kapoor. Fawad, who is famous for his roles in both the Pakistani entertainment industry and Bollywood, recently discussed the popularity of Pakistani dramas in India.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Fawad explained why television is so important in Pakistan: “The Pakistani entertainment industry has had its ups and downs in films, so television became our main focus. We became experts in creating engaging TV narratives.”
Fawad continued, “When you dedicate over 10,000 hours to something, you’re bound to get it right, especially when audiences constantly praise your work. In India, cinema has been a strength for a century, making it their strong suit. In Pakistan, our writers are skilled at creating long TV narratives, unlike Indian television which now focuses more on soap operas. In India, actors and directors often dream of working in movies, but in Pakistan, our talent shines on television. We excel at storytelling on TV, which has attracted a lot of viewers in India.”
On the professional front, Fawad will reunite with Anam Saeed for the show Barzakh, which also features Eman Suleman, Khushhal Khan, Faiza Gillani, and others. The show will premiere on Zindagi’s YouTube Channel and Zee 5 Global from July 19.
In addition to this, Fawad’s upcoming Bollywood project with Vaani Kapoor will be directed by Aarti Bagdi. Filming is scheduled to start in September and wrap up by November.
