Arshad Nadeem, who recently won a gold medal for Pakistan in the javelin throw at the Paris Olympics, has become the center of a new controversy.
Arshad’s victory marked the first individual gold medal for Pakistan in 40 years. Following this historic achievement, he has been widely celebrated and honored by many prominent personalities.
Recently, a video surfaced on YouTube showing a woman with Arshad Nadeem, and the video claimed she was his wife. The video criticized the woman’s attire, suggesting that as Arshad’s fame and fortune grew, his wife’s clothing became more revealing. It also accused Arshad of forgetting his cultural values due to his newfound popularity.
However, it has now been clarified that the woman in the video is not Arshad Nadeem’s wife but a journalist named Anbrin Fatima. The footage was taken during an event hosted by the famous singer Abrarul Haque in honor of Arshad Nadeem.
Ambreen Fatima responded to the controversy, stating, “I have been witnessing propaganda against me based on the pictures of me with Arshad Nadeem at Abrarul Haque’s house. It is falsely being spread that I am Arshad Nadeem’s wife, and ridiculous comments are being made about my clothing and character.”
She added, “Firstly, I am a journalist with over 20 years of experience. I meet and interview people from all fields, and what I choose to wear is my personal decision. Wearing a sleeveless shirt doesn’t make me someone’s wife or justify an attack on my character.”
Ambreen also announced that she has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the creator of the video. She stated, “I have approached the FIA Cybercrime Wing and filed a complaint against the Facebook page that has attempted to damage my reputation with this false and baseless video.”
She concluded by saying, “I will make sure this YouTuber faces consequences, so others think twice before spreading false information about someone in the future.”
