Lalitha De Silva, the former nanny of Taimur and Jahangir, made a surprising revelation about Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor‘s religion.
Kareena Kapoor Khan married Indian actor Saif Ali Khan, the son of the Nawab family, on October 16, 2012. This was Saif’s second marriage; he was previously married to Amrita Singh, with whom he has a son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, and a daughter, Sara Ali Khan. Their marriage ended in 2004 after 13 years.
Kareena and Saif’s marriage sparked controversy as it was an interfaith union, drawing criticism from both Muslims and Hindus. Kareena often faced questions about whether she prays and fasts after marrying Saif, who is from a Muslim family, to which she has always said no.
Kareena has never publicly discussed her religion, but Lalitha D’Silva disclosed in an interview with ‘Pink Villa’ that Kareena follows her mother’s religion, Christianity. Her mother, Babita, is also a Christian.
Lalitha mentioned that Kareena is a religious woman who respects all religions. She understands the importance of introducing children to religion to help them develop positive thinking from a young age. Lalitha also shared that while caring for the children, she used specific religious words from Christianity and Sikhism, and Kareena never objected.
Additionally, Lalitha noted that the food served at Kareena and Saif’s home is shared with all the employees, with the same meals prepared for everyone.
