According to Indian media, the incident occurred on Bhota Road in the Kachaman area of Rajasthan. The girls had gone to the shop to charge their mobile phones, but the shopkeeper refused and instead told one of them, “Say ‘I love you’ to me, and then I’ll charge your mobiles.”
When the girls protested against his inappropriate behavior, the shopkeeper responded with threats and attempted to intimidate them.
The girls decided to take action by dragging the shopkeeper out of his shop and slapping him in front of the public before handing him over to the police.
