Sanam Marvi, a renowned Pakistani folk and Sufi singer who sings in Sindhi, Punjabi, and Balochi languages, has recently confirmed her third marriage.
Sanam Marvi, a well-known name in the music industry, first married Aftab Ahmed when she was just 18. Tragically, Aftab was brutally murdered in Karachi in 2009 while Sanam was pregnant with their first child.
After her husband’s murder, Sanam Marvi remarried. Her second marriage was with Hamid Khan, and they had three sons together. However, due to domestic problems, the marriage ended in divorce.
Recently, Sanam Marvi caught everyone’s attention when she confirmed her third marriage during an appearance on a private TV program. During the interview, she shared details about her personal life and marriage.
She explained that after her second divorce, her three sons were taken away and now live with their father in Lahore. Sanam Marvi also revealed that her second husband was her cousin, who moved from the village to Lahore to help introduce her as a singer in the music industry.
Sanam Marvi shared that the issues with her second husband began because he had relationships with other women even before she became famous. At that time, she felt trapped and endured his behavior because she had no other choice. However, after gaining fame, financial independence, and confidence, she refused to tolerate his behavior and divorced him.
The singer also revealed that she had initially fought for custody of her children in court, but eventually withdrew the case to avoid causing them further distress.
Speaking about her third marriage, Sanam Marvi said, “I got married for the third time some time ago and am living a much better life now.” She did not share many details about her new husband but mentioned, “My husband’s name is Khabib, and he is a very good person. Marrying him made me realize that a man can be faithful.”
While Sanam Marvi has admitted to her third marriage, she has not disclosed how long she has been married.
