She has also acted in a number of Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada films. She started her modelling career in 2008 and debuted as an actress with the Tamil movie Vaamanan in 2009. Priya carved a niche for herself with her outstanding performance in the Ethir Neechal movie, starring along with Sivakarthikeyan. Firstly, Priya was offered to act in the Tamil movie Pugaippadam. That movie was released in 2010.
Later, she acted in Leader in Telugu and in English Vinglish in Bollywood. Her first Malayalam movie Ezra and Kannada movie Raajakunara increased her following significantly.
Along with her mother tongue, Priya knows English, Marathi, Bengali, Hindi, and Spanish too.
She developed an interest in cinema from childhood and dreamt of getting into the technical line of filmmaking.
Priya Anand is very fond of pets and loves to play with her pet dog.
She migrated to the US where she continued her higher studies. After completing her education, she came back to India in 2008 and stayed with her grandparents in Chennai city.
She first modeled and appeared in several television advertisements like Nutrine Maha Lacto, Prince Jewellery, & Cadbury Dairy Milk.
In 2011, she was an ambassador for the Save the Children campaign in Andhra Pradesh & Tamil Nadu.
