Due to a worrying rise in mental health issues, over 80 million people in the country are currently suffering from psychological problems.
During an ongoing meeting chaired by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the Ministry of Health presented this data to the House. They reported that all major hospitals in the country provide psychiatric treatment, and 126 medical colleges have departments dedicated to mental health and psychiatry.
Meanwhile, the Speaker expressed his frustration over the lack of response to questions about the water shortage and drought in the country. He asked, “Where is the Secretary of Water Resources, and why has he not appeared?”
He demanded the immediate presence of the Secretary of Water Resources, stating, “Your Principal Accounting Officer is not taking Parliament seriously.”
The Speaker then asked Minister Mossadegh Malik why a question had gone unanswered for a month, threatening to pass a resolution against the secretary for not taking Parliament seriously.
In response, Federal Minister of Water Resources Mossadegh Malik attempted to apologize, but the Speaker ignored his apology.
