Lahore Court Orders Amina Urooj’s Detention in Explosive Honey-Trapping Scandal
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar was abducted and robbed after being lured by a woman, according to the Lahore Police investigation on Monday.
The Lahore District Court granted a three-day physical remand for Amina Arooj, who is allegedly involved in this honey-trapping case targeting the renowned writer and director.
Judicial Magistrate Nabila Amir presided over the hearing and considered the police’s request for further investigation.
The police argued that Amina Arooj’s remand was necessary to recover assets related to the case. They stressed the need to interrogate Arooj to uncover more details and identify any accomplices in the honey-trapping scheme against Qamar.
Magistrate Nabila Amir approved the police’s request to extend the investigation to recover the assets linked to the case.
Additionally, the court ordered that eleven other suspects be sent to jail for an identification parade, where witnesses can confirm the involvement of the accused.
A senior police official told a local newspaper that nine suspects, including two women, were detained for honey-trapping and kidnapping Qamar after he filed a complaint with the Sundar police station on July 20.
A committee was formed to investigate the matter and apprehend the suspects.
According to the first information report (FIR), Qamar received a call from a woman named Amina Urooj, who invited him to her residence in Bahria Town to discuss a drama project.
