Khalil ur Rehman Says his Wife Wants to 'leave Pakistan

Controversial playwright Khalil ur Rehman Qamar has spoken out for the first time since his abduction and torture, revealing shocking details about the incident.

In a recent podcast, Qamar shared that he went to meet a woman at 4:40 am after performing the Fajr prayer.

“When I arrived, the woman was alone in the house. But shortly after, the doorbell rang, and she said she had ordered a parcel,” Qamar said.

“As soon as she opened the door, several people entered and tortured me.”

The playwright revealed that the woman, who had lured and kidnapped him, mentioned Pakistani actors Nauman Ijaz and Saba Qamar during their conversation.

“The woman mentioned Nauman Ijaz and Saba Qamar to confuse me and divert my attention,” the Meray Pass Tum Ho writer explained.

“They had no role in the kidnapping plot,” he added.

“I dislike Nauman Ejaz personally, but I like him as an actor. Similarly, I don’t like Saba Qamar, but I admire her acting and am a fan of her work.”

Regarding his wife’s well-being after the incident, Qamar revealed that his spouse wants to leave the country.

“My wife wants to leave Pakistan because she is depressed and sad about the treatment I received, but I love my homeland and will not leave my country,” he said.

The incident came to light on July 21 when the Pyary Afzal writer filed an FIR with the police about his abduction.

Lahore court grants physical remand of Amina Urooj

Later, the Lahore police confirmed that Mr. Qamar was abducted and robbed after being lured by a woman named Amina Urooj.

According to the FIR, Amina called Qamar, inviting him to her residence in Bahria Town to discuss a drama project.

The suspects withdrew Rs267,000 from the ATM after forcing Qamar to disclose his PIN. He was then forced into a car, physically tortured, and abandoned in a deserted location.

At a press conference, the playwright revealed that doctors advised him to avoid sunlight. For this reason, he met with the woman late at night.
