According to Indian media, Kangana Ranaut has confirmed that the release of her film Emergency has been postponed due to a delay in receiving the certificate from the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification). The movie ‘Emergency’ was scheduled to release on September 6.
In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Kangana Ranaut expressed her regret over the film’s release being delayed. She mentioned that they are still waiting for the censor board’s certificate and promised that a new release date would be announced soon.
Recently, Kangana Ranaut had approached the Mumbai High Court to expedite the release of Emergency and obtain the necessary certification. However, on September 4, the court did not grant relief, and the film’s certification issue remains unresolved.
It’s worth noting that Kangana Ranaut stars as former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the movie.

Court Refuses to Direct Censor Board
According to Indian media, Kangana Ranaut’s film Emergency was scheduled for release on September 6, but it has not yet received its release certificate. The film’s release has been challenged in court.
Today, the Mumbai High Court reviewed the case regarding the film’s certification. However, the court did not grant relief to Kangana Ranaut. Justices Burgess Kolabala and Firdous Puniwala stated that they cannot compel the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to issue a certificate, as it would conflict with a previous order from the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
Additionally, the Bombay High Court has summoned CBFC members for further proceedings and postponed the hearing until September 19.
Previously, the Jailpur High Court had issued an order banning the release of Emergency, which means the film will not premiere on September 6 as planned.
