Kalki 2898 AD is a sci-fi action drama and superhero film directed by Nag Ashwin, known for his work on Mahanati. The film stars Prabhas and Deepika Padukone as the lead characters, with Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani, Dulquer Salmaan, Naveen Singh, Rana Daggubati, and Pasupathy playing significant roles. Kamal Haasan appears as the antagonist, and the music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan.

With a budget of 600 crores, Kalki 2898 AD is one of the most expensive Indian films ever made. After earning over 1000 crores globally within 50 days of its theatrical release, the film is scheduled to make its OTT debut on August 22, 2024 (Thursday).

Originally set for release on May 9, 2024, the film’s premiere was postponed to June 27, 2024, due to the Indian general elections. It will be released in Telugu and Hindi, with dubbed versions in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and English. The introduction video of Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwatthama has heightened fan expectations. The teasers for “Bujji” and “Bhairava,” released on YouTube on May 22 and May 27 respectively, have received enthusiastic reviews.
