Babar Junaid, son of the late Pakistani ex-singer and renowned religious scholar Junaid Jamshed, recently shared his father’s final message before his passing.
During an appearance on comedian and host Nader Ali’s podcast, Babar discussed his father’s last voice note and other memories. Before playing the voice note, Nader Ali mentioned that Junaid Jamshed frequently used phrases like “Masha’Allah” and “Insha’Allah.” However, in his final message, Junaid did not say “Insha’Allah” when mentioning his plans to return to Karachi.
Nader Ali speculated that perhaps, by Allah’s will, Junaid Jamshed forgot to say “Insha’Allah” because he never made it back to Karachi. Babar Junaid recalled that he was at home when he learned about the plane crash involving his father.
Babar also shared his father’s heartfelt wish, saying, “My father always prayed to be blessed with martyrdom.” He mentioned that his father often said some matters were between him and Allah.
Junaid Jamshed, once a successful businessman and former singer, dedicated his life to preaching Islam after leaving the music industry. He tragically died in December 2016 when a Pakistan Airlines (PIA) flight to Islamabad crashed after a religious visit to Gilgit. A total of 48 people, including Junaid Jamshed and his wife, were on board.
