The teaser trailer for the Bollywood film “Jigra,” featuring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, has captured the hearts of movie fans immediately upon its release.
Following the success of “Istari 2,” “Jigra” is another female-led film showcasing the versatile Alia Bhatt in a strong, powerful role. Alia and Vedang play siblings in the movie, and the story centers around a determined young woman, or “jaggery girl,” who faces any challenge to protect her brother.
Produced by Dharma Productions and directed by the renowned Vasan Bala, “Jagra” sees Alia Bhatt in an action-packed role. The teaser begins with Alia in a carefree look—sporting a ponytail and minimal makeup—recounting painful childhood memories to Manoj Pahwa.

In a poignant scene, Alia tells Manoj, “After my father’s death, my mother committed suicide, and after that, I was mistreated.” She swears to protect her brother (Vedang Raina) because he is her only family. Manoj warns Alia, who faces the challenges for her brother’s love, with a reference to the 1970s’ Angry Young Man, Amitabh Bachchan: “Aap bachana hai, Bachchan nahi banna” (You have to protect, not become Bachchan).
In response, Alia boldly declares, “Ab to Bachchan hi banna hai” (Now, I will be Bachchan), and is then seen engaging in intense action scenes.
“Jagra,” one of the most anticipated films featuring Alia Bhatt, is set to release in theaters on October 11, 2024.
Film critics and industry experts predict that “Jigra” will shatter all previous success records.
