According to Indian media reports, Akshay Kumar’s last successful film was ‘Sooryavanshi,’ released in 2021. Since then, his next 10 films have not performed well at the box office.
Recently, his film ‘Sarphra’ also failed, earning only 21 crores despite a budget of 80 crores.
Some of his other recent flops include ‘Bachchan Pandey,’ ‘Samrat Prithviraj,’ ‘Raksha Bandhan,’ ‘Kath Patli,’ ‘Ram Sethu,’ ‘Selfie,’ ‘Oh My God 2,’ ‘Mission Raniganj,’ and ‘Big Mian Small Mian.’
Reports suggest that Akshay Kumar has incurred losses of over 1000 crores INR due to these consecutive failures. For instance, the producers of ‘Bade Mian Chhote Mian’ and ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ had to bear losses of 250 crores and 150 crores, respectively.
In a recent interview, Akshay Kumar addressed these flops, stating that every film is made with passion and hard work, and it is painful to see a film fail. He mentioned that such failures are discouraging but do not change the outcome of the film.
He emphasized the importance of working harder and giving his best effort in future projects.
It’s worth noting that in the 1990s, Akshay Kumar also faced 16 consecutive flops, after which he left India and took Canadian citizenship.
