Pakistani scriptwriter, director, and poet Khalilur Rehman Qamar was reportedly released after a large ransom was paid.
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, known for his controversial statements and drama stories, has often made headlines for his polarizing views on women.
Recently, he made news again due to a verbal altercation with a woman on a TV show. This incident, along with his confession of dislike for actor Nauman Ijaz, gained significant attention on social media. Now, Khalilur Rehman Qamar is in the spotlight due to his kidnapping.
Police sources claim that Qamar was abducted by a gang a few days ago and was tortured during his captivity.
Reports state that the kidnappers demanded a large ransom for his release, which was eventually paid.
The police also mentioned that Qamar is avoiding legal action, which is why he has not registered an FIR for his abduction. Instead, he provided the details of the incident orally through a senior police officer.
The police are urging Khalilur Rehman Qamar to take legal action and assist them in apprehending the kidnappers.
Khalilur Rehman Qamar is known for his popular dramas such as ‘Sadake Tumhare’, ‘Mere Paas Tum Ho’, and ‘Pyare Afzal’. His hit films include ‘Punjab Nahi Jaungi’ and ‘London Nahi Jaunga’.
